Acoustics, Specialization Course

Technology for converting electromagnetic waves to acoustic and acoustic waves to electromagnetic (loudspeakers and microphones), computer assisted sound generation (virtual sound sources). The applications comprise. Acoustic waves for communication and remote sensing in marine environments. Sound as an environmental factor- noise abatement. Audio technology and subjective perseption of sound. The students shall choose two elective themes of 3.75 SP each. Possible themes:
TTT03 Acoustic remote sensing.
TTT11 Music and sensation.
TTT01 3-D sound and sound in multimedia applications.
TTT12 Numerical acoustics: selected topics.
TTT17 Effects of sound.

The acoustics courses should give the foundation for systems, methods and theory for the modelling, representation, processing of sound sources and signals (speech, music, noise etc).

If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
