Microwave Integrated Circuits

Microwave transistors with model and S-parameter descriptions, stability, design of amplifiers and oscillators with emphasis on noise and non-linear characteristics, hybrid-and monolithic integrated circuits, CAD and measurement techniques.

This course will give fundamental understanding of crucial components in radio systems for e.g. communications, radar and navigation, and give knowledge on analysis, design and technology of such circuits. Further familiarise the students with CAD and measurement techniques to be able to design selected circuits for the frequency range 50MHz to 50GHz, and make laboratoty tests.

Lectures, CAD -and laboratory exercises. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral. The course may be held in English if foreign exchange students attend.
