About this course

Content

The course presents modern methods and principles for design and implementation of digital filters.
Possible subjects are selected from the following list:
Multirate-filters, filter banks, non-linear filters, multi-dimensional filters, filter structures and finite wordlength effects, methods for filter synthesis, applications.
Mandatory computer projects.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge: The goal is to provide filter theory and powerful filtering techniques. Skills: The students should be able to make optimal choices and thus adapted constructions for different applications and implementation platforms.
Competence: Together with implementation- and application oriented subjects the student should be able to evaluate the efficiency and economic potential of digital signal processing techniques used in products.

Teaching methods

Lectures, colloquia, computer projects.
