Advanced Logistics within Maritime industry

The course will provide the students with a deep understanding and overview over state-of-the-art and emerging national and international solutions (what exists, responsibilities, organization etc.) with regard to the following topics: " Offshore asset protection and coastal & sea surveillance solutions (O&G installations, Wind Turbines, Fish Farms, Tidal Power parks etc.). " Track-and-tracing of sea traffic and personnel. Purpose and technological applicable solutions. " Emergency Preparedness solutions for handling of different types of unwanted Marine Incidents and Accidents " Improved communication and logistics planning by cloud-based e-Navigation - state-of-the-art national and international solutions.

Having passed the exam it is expected that the candidate:

Knowledge:

Has gained in-depth understanding and overview over state-of-the-art and emerging solutions in the academic field of advanced logistics planning for demanding marine operations

Has thorough knowledge of the scholarly theories and methods in the field of advanced operations logistics - can apply knowledge to new types of advanced operations

Can analyze academic problems on the basis of the history, traditions, distinctive character and place in society of the academic field of advanced logistics

Skills:

Can analyse and deal critically with various sources of information and use them to structure and formulate scholarly arguments within logistics planning

Can analyse existing theories, methods and interpretations in the field of logistics planning and work independently on practical and theoretical problems

Can carry out an independent, limited research or development project under supervision and in accordance with applicable norms for research ethics
