Theory of science, Explanations of causes/purposes, The research process, Research ethics, Research design, How qualitative and quantitative methods have a complimented relationship to each other. Problem formulation, Operationalization, and measurement, Formal requirements for formulation of goals (validation), Data collection (observation, interview, and surveys), Basic understanding of quantitative and qualitative analysis, Quality assurance, reliability, and validity requirements.

Knowledge:

Have acquired the basic principles within traditional research methods Have insight into the main principles for qualitative and quantitative analyzes Have knowledge of research ethics issues Have knowledge of presentation and reporting of research results.

Skills:

Be able to carry out a simple, limited research or development project in line with current research ethics norms Be able to reflect on relevant professional and research ethics issues Be able to communicate about academic issues, analyzes and conclusions.

Competence:

Be able to see the course in a larger economic academic context Be able to see the course in a larger societal perspective Be able to acquire updated knowledge within the above-mentioned areas of knowledge and skills in the subject.
