MATHEMATICS:
Be able to do calculations with trigonometric functions in the plane and on the surface of a sphere
Be able to use vector arithmetic, calculate torque by using the cross product
Be able to define a function for an applied problem, and use differentiation to determine the maximum- or minimum values for the function
Be able to use integration to find the area of a plane region and the volume of a solid

STATISTICS:
Perform basic probability calculations
Calculate location and variance measures
Choose probability model and do calculations with discrete and continuous probability distributions
Evaluate correlation between two random variables

Be able to use mathematical and statistical methods within other subjects in nautical education
Have a mathematical and statistical foundation for further studies and lifelong learning in nautical courses
