ERP Systems

Architecture and functionality of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems: sales and operations planning, master scheduling, material requirement planning, capacity planning, forecasts, and inventory management.

Functionality, configuration, and modification of an ERP-system: master planning, production, sales ledger, purchase ledger, stock management, product builder. Methodology for analysis and implementation of ERP-systems: needs analysis, requirement specification, modification specification, and user case.

Architecture and functionality of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems: item and document management, product structure management, workflow and change management.

Knowledge:

The students will learn about the architecture, functionally and modification of ERP systems, and about needs analysis and strategic assessments in the implementation of such systems. The students will also learn about Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Skills:

The student shall be able to work as a consultant or IT leader in the company's acquisition, implementation, and optimisation of ERP systems.

General competence (attitudes):

Understand the role of ICT in a broader societal perspective, and cooperate and contribute to multidisciplinary interaction.

Lectures and exercises. The lectures and exercises are held in English. It is expected that compulsories and examinations must be completed in English.
