Sustainable and Technological Production and Logistics

Motivated by the needs of today's globalized society, this course will apply novel action- and project-oriented teaching and learning approach to improve and enhance the higher university education in engineering science, through mobility and cross-border cooperation of master students and professors.

Possible research fields for the technological innovation will be Closed Loop Life Cycles, Sustainable Factories of the Future, Urban Production, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Learning Factories and Hospital logistics.

Knowledge:

• Improved knowledge of the relationship between relevant theory and practical concept and production.
• Profound knowledge of production processes and methods.

Skills:

• Develop teamwork skills by reflecting on and learning from specific situations of cooperation in carrying out a project.
• Ability to critically and creatively identify, formulate and handle complex issues and develop innovative and smart solutions.
• Effective communication of business in a professional setting.
• Development of collaborative skills that make the teamwork more productive.

General competence (attitudes):

• Understanding of how to conduct the early stages of interdisciplinary team projects.
• Understanding of how to work in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams in a technological engineering company to achieve a common goal.

The course will include supervised project work that take place as transnational meetings The students will also have the possibility to attend e-learning phases.

The e-learning phase will contain e-lectures addressing different topics on sustainable production engineering.

During the course, each student will undertake the following activities:

• Project-oriented learning in an international team of master students.
• Connected e-lectures on Sustainable Engineering.
• Presentation of the project results at an international conference. The students shall deliver a report that document the process, progress and the current result of the project.
