About this course
Content
The course ICT in Advanced Manufacturing covers ICT based manufacturing systems and selected manufacturing processes with focus on methods for integrated manufacturing and data handling. The course also addresses the use of ICT and data formats within design (CAD), manufacutring and quality management (Product Lifecycle Models) to achieve Zero defect manufacturing.
The mathematic base for geometry modeling of products and related manufacturing processes.
For the process side Additive manufacturing explains the steps from idea to complete product; From Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to Design for Performance (DFP). Methods for additive manufacturing for metal materials and sintering processes. Concepts of Hybrid manufacturing with basis in Additive processes.
Manufacturing Engineering methods within Geometric Reverce Engineering, design for manufacturing and assembly as well as Virtual Manufacturing will be a part of the course.

Teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory work and exercises. The exercises contain in part a project work that counts 40% of the final grade. The course will be given in English (Norwegian language is also possible if there are Norwegian participants only).
If the teaching is given in English the Examination papers will be given in English only. Studentens are free to choose Norwegian or English for written assessements. For make-up examinations, the written exam can be changed to an oral one.
