Innovation, Design and Production 2

Innovation, Design and Production 2 is available to students who hold positions in Revolve NTNU in the same semester. The course is an extension of TPK4141 and aims to develop the ability to transform plans, concepts, and designs into physical products that fulfill their intended purpose.

The course is designed to strengthen learning outcomes from the organizational work through systematic reflection to improve collaboration, methods, and processes, as well as by connecting relevant theory to the practical tasks.

Key focus areas include project execution, risk management, validation and verification, knowledge transfer, and handling of compromises and challenges associated with developing and verifying innovative and complex technical systems.

By the end of this course, the student shall be able to:

• Plan and execute development projects from production-ready design to operation and disposal of the product, including knowledge transfer to the next competition season's development project.
• Describe and critically evaluate product development processes and methods with a focus on lifecycle phases from detailed design to operation and disposal.
• Explain compromises made during the development work.
• Identify and apply relevant theory in their practical work at Revolve NTNU.
• Identify and use appropriate methods to verify that the finished product is suitable for its intended purpose and complies with relevant requirements and regulations.
• Work effectively in interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions from production-ready design to qualified product.

The teaching is centered around the work the student does through their role in Revolve NTNU and includes mandatory individual assignments, and group work.
