Innovation, Design and Production 1

Innovation, Design and Production 1 is available to students who hold a position in Revolve NTNU during the same semester. The practical work carried out in Revolve NTNU, combined with mandatory exercises, strengthens students’ ability to identify and apply relevant theories and methods to develop innovative solutions, providing a solid foundation for successful entrepreneurship.

The course enhances the learning outcomes of the work performed for Revolve NTNU by linking theory to the practice done and developing students’ ability to reflect on how collaboration, methods, and processes can be improved. Key focus areas include teamwork and collaboration, project planning and execution, risk management, concept development, and the identification of success criteria.

By the end of this course, the student shall be able to:

• Describe product development processes and methods.
• Identify and apply relevant theory in their practical work at Revolve NTNU.
• Explain the basis for decisions, concepts, and conclusions.
• Plan and execute development projects from idea to production-ready design.
• Critically assess progress and processes in their own development work, and identify and implement any necessary measures.
• Work effectively in interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

The teaching is centered around the work the student does through their role in Revolve NTNU and includes individual guidance, mandatory individual assignments, and mandatory group work.
