The main focus of the course is to provide knowledge about management and control of a manufacturing company. Key functions and processes in manufacturing enterprises are covered, both from a strategic, tactical and operational perspective.

Basic theories, analytical methods and techniques are covered for the following areas:

• Business models and control models
• Production planning environments, principles and classification
• Principles for production control
• Production scheduling and execution
• The physical production and logistics system
• Lean production
• Production economics and performance management
• Sustainable production and logistics
• Circular logistics
• Digital information systems
• Industry 4.0, digitalisation and new technology

Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge about the production and operational system of modern manufacturing enterprises
• Understanding and application of relevant models, analytical methods and techniques, including modern digital technologies
• Fundamental understanding of report writing

• Ability to apply acquired knowledge in developing holistic solutions within production and operations management
• Ability to transform theories into practical application based on well-founded choices of relevant alternative solutions
