Petroleum Production, Specialization Course

The student must normally choose the specialization course of 7.5 credits listed for the specialization in the programme description. The contents of this will vary depending on the specialization project and assigned supervisor, and will consist of specially designed course within the discipline (individual or group based). Alternatively, an ordinary course (7.5 credits) can be chosen instead of the specialization course, if approved by the supervisor for the specialization project and the Faculty.

Ingress:
This course will provide in-depth knowledge within the discipline.

Knowledge:
The student will acquire specialized knowledge in support of project completion within the discipline.

Skills:
The student will be able to find scientific literature and extract the main elements that are relevant to the project.

General competence:
Increased understanding of the discipline.

The modules are given as lectures, possibly with exercises, seminars or self studies. In some modules a report, presentation or similar may be part of the assessment, in addition to an oral exam. Information about this (including weighting) will be given at course start. If the course is based on two modules (which have to have the same form of assessment), the grade in the course will be based on the average of both modules. However, in order to be eligible to receive this grade, both modules must receive a passing score.
