Product Design 6 - Products and Systems

Fundamentals of system design (logistics / transportation systems, medical technology etc.)are presented. A complex system must be documented and analysed.
On this basis a single product concept or a sub system of a product is developed.

Knowledge: The candidate master the basic theory of system design, and methodology for developing a specific product for a complex setting.

Skills: Through a project, the student has developed skills in analyzing and understanding complex systems, to transfer this knowledge to product requirements, and conduct concept development and detailed design for a product that will work within a complex system.

General qualifications: The candidate has used previously acquired design methodology in a complex situation.

Lectures, seminars, project assignments, excursion and individual tutoring. Oral presentation, individual and teamwork. The course is given in English if necessary.
