About this course
Content
Carbon materials used industrially will be treated with emphasis on properties that have given carbon its broad industrial application and production methods. Topics covered are among others: raw materials, carbonization, graphitization, characterization, electrodes in metallurgical and electrometallurgical industry, and electrodes for energy applications.
Learning outcomes
The students will be able to explain how the choice of raw materials and processing parameters can tailor carbon materials with wide properties and application range. The students will be able to apply this especially to various electrode materials of carbon.
Teaching methods
Lectures, exercises, semester assignment. All learning material is in English. The lectures are given in English but can lectures may be given in Norwegian oral language if only Norwegian speaking students are physically attending a specific lecture.
