About this course

Content

Production and distribution of electric current.
General electric theory around electrical circuits, directed current, alternating current, and three-phase current.
Components in electrical installations, electrical installations in buildings and electro safety.
Electrical motors with emphasis on the asynchronous (induction) motor. Electrical heating.
Components in automated installations.
Understanding and construction of automated controls of HVAC installations.
PID process controls.
Installations for central operational control.

Learning outcomes

Learning outcome:
Knowledge: Candidate should have knowledge of electrical facilities with an emphasis on installations in construction. Furthermore, the candidate shall have the knowledge about the automation of plumbing facilities with the components included. Skills: The candidate should be able to read, construct and project automation facilities for plumbing. Moreover, the candidate shall be able to communicate in electrical engineering with Electro Technical advisers,electrician, architects and others. General competence: The candidate should have insight into the mukligheter and limitations of electrical installations and for the automation and management of plumbing facilities. The candidate should be able to communicate this to various target groups both inside and outside the field.

Teaching methods

Lectures, exercises, project and laboratory work. Possibly visit(s) at buildings and companies. Self-study.
