About this course

Content

The students shall acquire knowledge about heat and mass transfer, thermal engineering processes, and flow in pipes and channels. Theoretical and practical application of the course includes:
1. Energy quality, thermodynamic laws and their consequences, efficiency, thermodynamic loss,
2. Humid air and evaporation related to indoor air quality.
3. Flow in pipes and channels, Bernoulli’s equation, laminar and turbulent flow, pressure loss,
4. Pumps/fans, installed in parallel and in series, cavitation,
5. Heat transfer, thermal conduction, convection, heat radiation, heat resistance,
6. Heat exchangers, area, efficiency,
7. Combustion, chemical reactions, calorific value, excess air and environment,
8. Steam, use, processes.
