Strenght of materials: stress analysis, design criteria, elastic materials, torsion, stress and deformations in beams, statically undetermined problems, buckling.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:
-Fundamental understanding of mechanics and basic statics.
-The candidate should have basic knowledge about calculating the powers in static issues.
-The candidate should have basic knowledge of the calculation of tension and deformation in constructions.

Skills:
-The candidate should be able to analyse static issues, and resolve these by applying the equilibrium equations. The candidate should be able to solve and evaluate static problems with graphical and related methods.
-The candidate should be able to analyse and solve problems within Fasthetslæren.

General competence:
-Ability to evaluate issues, and find appropriate methods of solution.
-The candidate should be able to provide a critical assessment of their own solutions of physical and technical problems.
- Ability to solve problems in collaboration with others, as well as being able to communicate them.

Teaching methods

Delivery by a series of lectures, problem solving incl. tutorial time, and laboratory course.
