About this course

Content

Supervised research project within one of the fields covered by industrial mathematics.

Learning outcomes

1. Knowledge: The student has the ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of a specific topic within one of the fields of study covered by industrial mathematics. The student will be able to explain and apply the underlying theoretical concepts and techniques.

2. Skills: The student is capable of independently producing scientific work within the mathematical sciences, which is relevant for business and industry. The work will be based on research, and can be both theoretical and applied in nature.

3. General competence: The student will be able to complete a significantly large, independent project, including writing a project plan with checkpoints. The student will be able to communicate the results of the work both orally and in a scientific report/paper.

Teaching methods

Independent work under regular guidance of the supervisor. There will be an oral presentation of the thesis before the deadline.
