Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety Management, Specialization Project

This is a larger piece of work designed and written by small study groups, normally 1 - 2 students. The Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety Management unit offers supervision within the following subject areas: Work Environment, Indoor Air Quality, Occupational hygiene, Environmental Management, Industrial Ecology and Safety Management. A list of possible projects will be made available before the students choose their specialization. Each project may have its own requirement for 2nd year courses and necessary small courses within the specialization course. The project supervisor must approve the students choice of small courses. The specific academic content will vary with the chosen subject area. Students who choose TIØ4521 Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety Management Specialization Project must also choose TIØ4525 Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety Management Specialization Course.

The contents of the course is in particular relevant to UN's Sustainable Development Goals SDG 3 about om Good health and well-being, SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth, SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production, SDG 13; Climate action, SDG 14: Life below water and SDG 15: Life on land.

Position and function of the course in the study: This is a compulsory course for students in the second year of the MTHMS and MHMS programs. The course will provide knowledge about the following: The student will be able to analyze and solve problems and managerial challenges related to sustainability, occupational health and safety management for companies. The course will provide competence in development of knowledge and ability to read, understand and use existing research in a framework of sustainability, occupational health and safety management activity. Other important learning outcomes: The student will be trained in the ability to discuss and present theory related to Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety Management
