• Minerals engineering (professor Rolf Arne Kleiv),
• Chemical analysis (associate professor Maria Thornhill),
• Mineral resources geology (professor Rune B. Larsen),
• Mineral magnetism applied to mineral exploration (researcher Nathan Church),
• Process mineralogy (associate professor Kurt Aasly),
• Geochemistry (associate professor Bjørn Eske Sørensen).
• Processing of primary and secondary resources (professor Pshem Kowalczuk)

Ingress: This course will provide in-depth knowledge in the field.

Knowledge: The student will acquire specialized knowledge in support of project completion in the field.

Skills: The student will be able to find scientific literature and draw out the main elements that are relevant to the project.

General competence: Increased understanding of the field.

Topics are normally given as supervised self study, but can also include exercises, seminars or free-standing lectures. In some modules (fieldwork), a report, presentation or similar may be part of the assessment, in addition to the oral exam. Information about this (including weighting) will be given at course start, together with information about the HES part of the course.
