Electrical Energy, Specialisation Course

The course consists of two themes at 3.75 ECTS credits each. Choice of themes is done in consultation with the supervisor of the chosen specialisation project. Themes should normally be chosen among the themes offered by the Department of Electric Power Engineering.

If the nature of the specialisation project gives a scientific reason to choose themes from other departments at NTNU, this may be accepted under the condition that it is feasible.

Knowledge:

After completing the course, the student shall have extensive knowledge about the topics contained within his/her specialisation course.

Skills:

After completing the course, the student shall be able to analyse and solve problems related to energy use and energy planning in a scientific and professional way.

General competence:

After completing the course, the candidate has increased:

- ability to communicate effectively to professionals and non-specialists alike through reports and presentations

- ability to contribute to innovation and innovation processes

The teaching of the themes may be given as lectures, exercises, seminars or guided self-tuition. Some themes have compulsory exercises and laboratory work. Each theme is given in English if students who do not speak Norwegian are following the theme.
