Electrical Energy and Power Systems, Specialisation Project

This course contains a specialisation project of 15 ECTS credits. The specialisation project typically forms the basis for the Master’'s project. The course content varies depending on the specialisation profile the student is enrolled in, and the selected research problem. The research topic is within the scientific areas covered by the Department of Electric Energy.

The course includes mandatory training in research methodology as part of the specialization project. The methodological training is clearly integrated into the study plan and covers literature search, research design, data collection, analysis, reproducibility and research ethics.

Knowledge: After completing the course, the student shall have obtained: * extensive background and knowledge in the selected research topic, which will enable him/her to address a precise research problem. * good knowledge in related topics. * good knowledge about relevant scientific literature. Skills: After completing the course, the student will be able to: • perform scientific literature review/survey. • utilise theory, methods, techniques, and tools necessary to address a research problem. • give an oral presentation of the research work carried out. • write a technical report according to a standard setup. General competence: After completing the course, the student will be able to: • communicate the research topic with specialists as well as general public. • develop applied project management skills, i.e., define and execute a project plan with milestones, intermediate deliverables, status reports, etc. • build scientific temperament in the acquisition of knowledge through research work. • obtain awareness of integrity and ethics in research work. - contribute to innovation and innovation processes.

• Independent/collaborative project work with guidance. It must be agreed at the start of the semester if students are to work together on the project assignment.
