About this course

Content

The specialization topic consists of a project work of 15 study points. The topic will focus on analyses, design and operation of thermal components and systems. Of importance is development and implementation of new technology for thermal processes onshore and offshore. Topics related to safety, economy, environment, operation, maintenance and legislation are included. National and international challenges related to thermal energy conservation and utilisation is highlighted. The topic will be closely linked to the ongoing research activities: Modelling and simulation, Thermal heat and power production including CO2 capture, Gas turbines and compressors, Turbulent combustion, Heat and mass transfer, Biomass and waste, Air pollution and gas cleaning equipment, Energy utilization in the industry, Environmental system analysis (Life Cycle Assessment).

Project alternatives are established within March/April.

Students will get their project thesis title within mid May.
