Content

  • 3D modeling as a tool within product design and development
  • 3D solid modeling including assembly of components
  • 2D-drawings including geometrical dimensions, specifications and tolerances
  • Simulations of movements of simple assembled mechanisms
  • 2D pictures/rendrings from your own 3D model
  • From 2D digital sketch as basis for 3D model
  • From physical model, 3D scanning, transfering and basis for 3D model
  • Form and position tolerances including standards
  • 3D printing of your own digital model
  • Quality assurance within product design - QFD and FMEA
  • Teamwork and team processes
  • Project work and project management
  • Report writing
  • Oral and visual presentation from an idea and product concept

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

The candidate :

  • has basic knowledge of projects as a form of work, both about organization, implementation and reporting.
  • has basic knowledge about 3D-modelling and additive manufacturing (3D-printing)
  • can use digital tools for 3D-modelling and additive manufacturing (3D-printing)
  • has basic programming skills
  • has basic knowledge on design methodology and ideation
  • has basic knowledge on QA methods within product design

The candidate:

  • can share his / her knowledge and experience with others, both in writing and orally
  • can organize, plan and carry out his / her work tasks and cooperate with fellow students in a team
