About this course
Content
Today's organizations have an increasing need for employees with relevant and up-to-date competence. Customized Corporate E-Learning is in this regard a common term for training programs, tailored to the organization's specific training needs and offered using digital technology. Students will gain knowledge about the varying training needs today's organizations have, and how these needs can be satisfied cost-effectively with different forms of business-adapted e-learning (blended learning, synchronous and asynchronous communication, fixed or freely defined progress, etc.). The course focuses on the design of multimedia solutions for e-learning and it gives students an introduction to methods, standards and tools for design, development and delivery of e-learning customized for corporate clients.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the following overall learning outcomes should be achieved:
Knowledge
Students should:
- Have knowledge of what customized corporate e-learning is, and be able to present different forms of customized corporate e-learning that can be used in different contexts.
- Be able to describe theoretical models and processes used in the design of e-learning solutions.
- Be able to describe relevant standards and different ICT tools that can be used in the design, development and delivery of e-learning for corporate clients.
Skills
Students should:
- Participate in processes where customized corporate e-learning is designed.
- Be able to prepare design documents for customized corporate e-learning solutions.
- Be able to demonstrate different approaches to the design of e-learning solutions and explain the strengths and weaknesses that characterize these.
- Be able to use selected ICT tools for design, development and delivery of e-learning solutions.
General competence
Students should:
- Be able to plan and organize cost-effective e-learning solutions relevant for corporate clients.
- Be able to utilize customized corporate e-learning to satisfy some of the organizations' needs for training.
- Be able to evaluate e-learning solutions in a sustainability perspective.
Teaching methods
Various forms of work and various learning activities will be used in this course. It will be a combination of physical and virtual lectures, individual work, group work and student presentations.
