Content

Building history, consequences, location analysis tool, CAD Training (Archicad), development residential areas, building for the future, regulations, planning and building, planning application, environmental impact / analysis, project planning (msprosjekt)

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:
* The candidate should have knowledge that gives system perspective on the development of a residential development area
* The candidate should have knowledge of structural engineering history.
* The candidate can refresh their knowledge in the field through
information gathering in line with the Planning and Building Act.

Skills:
* The candidate should have an engineer professional digital literacy with the emphasis on preparing digital drawings and models.
* The candidate can plan and conduct simple construction projects and tasks in the field, both independently and in teams, also using digital planning tools.
* The candidate can find, use and refer to information and technical material, and prepare it so that it highlights a problem.
* The candidate can contribute to creativity and innovation through the development and realization of sustainable and socially beneficial solutions.

General competence:
* The candidate has insight into the environmental impacts of products and solutions in his field and can put these in an ethical perspective and a lifetime
* The candidate can communicate knowledge in his field to diverse audiences both written text and drawing, and writing.
* The candidate can reflect on their professional practice and can adapt it to the current employment situation.
* The candidate can contribute to the development of good practice through participating in professional discussions in the field and share their knowledge and experiences with others.

Teaching methods

Startup with lectures and then divided in large groups (3 groups) basic CAD in the computer lab. In the project these groups are then divided in smaller groups (6-7 stud / group). Ends with presentation to a large group. The group uses digital adm. management folders on electronic learning environment (Blackboard) as organizing tools. The core of the course a project that includes a large development area to be developed mainly with residential focus (development of future urbanization for young).
