Biosynthesis of triglycerids, phospholipids and isopentene derived lipids. Aminoacids and nucleotide metabolism. Catalytic and regulatory strategies of the cells,: Catabolite repression, allosteri, covalent modification , cascade reactions, hormone control, signal transduction and isoenzymes. Transcription control. Integrated metabolism.

Give an overview of biosynthesis of biomolecules with emphasis on regulation of metabolic processes, on various levels.

Lectures, laboratory exercises, reports. The midterm test (semesterprøve) is optional and will only count in positive direction. If the test is not submitted or the result is lower than that obtained on the final exam, the grade obtained in this course will only be based on the final exam. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
