Master's Thesis in Geotechnics and Geohazards

Academic content must be agreed with assigned supervisor within the field.

Students will complete a master thesis within the field.

Knowledge:

Use scientific methods in the implementation of a independent work in the field.

Skills:

Students will be able to prepare a project plan with milestones, reporting partial results and write a thesis in accordance with established standards.

General competence:

Documented scientific qualifications through completion of a master thesis in the field.

Independent thesis work under supervision. The thesis may wholly or partly be completed at an external company, in agreement with the academic supervisor.

Mandatory Activities

The student must give an oral presentation well in advance of submitting the assignment in order to make any necessary adjustments before submission.

• It is expected that the presentation will cover both a subject-related part and a methodology part.
• The presentation should last for 30 minutes, including questions from the audience.
