Knowledge - With a special focus on sustainability, the candidate should have knowledge of:

• Relevant goals for the road, rail, and transportation sector
• Strategies and solutions for transport of persons and goods
• Strategies and solutions for constructing, operating and maintaining road and rail infrastructure

Skills - With a special focus on sustainability, the candidate should be able to:

• Identify and assess strengths and weaknesses of existing solutions and plans
• Solve concrete problems within this field

General competence - With a special focus on sustainability, the candidate should be competent to:

• Orientate him/herself in the international literature of this field and identify relevant literature for own studies
• Comprehend and present relevant research results
• Co-operate with professionals and politicians regarding solutions for roads, rail and transport
• Solve relevant tasks both independently and as part of a team

Lectures, group work, seminars and exercises. The lectures and all learning activities are in English when non-Norwegian speaking students follow the subject.
