Conservation Theories 2

The course is a continuation of the course Conservation Philosophy 1. Ethical issues and protection philosophy are central to historic buildings and environments being able to be maintained and preserved on their own terms as documentation for the future. Exercises, inspections and own efforts at the home site to document understanding of the place and a local anchoring to the building practice will be central

Kunnskap: Studenten har kunnskap om kriteriene og prinsippene for bygningsvern og restaurering. Studenten har kunnskap om bygningsvernets etiske problemstillinger og kvalitetsbetraktninger. Studenten har kunnskap ulike teoretiske betraktninger i vernefilosofien og vernefilosofiens historie. Ferdigheter: Studenten kan vurdere og drøfte kulturminneverdien av et byggverk. Generell kompetanse: Studenten er i stand til å skape en bevissthet om forholdet mellom gammelt og nytt og bevaringsverdige forhold.
