Academic content Ethical issues and conservation theory are central to ensuring that historic buildings and environments can be maintained and preserved on their own terms as documentation for the future. We will establish a foundation for quality considerations and value analysis of historic buildings, which can contribute to sustainable development in the construction industry. Central to the cultural heritage protection is the protection of older buildings. Conflicts are often triggered around protection or not protection. The best possible knowledge of the building from a cultural value perspective will be important when deciding on protection, renovation and function.

Knowledge: The candidate has basic knowledge of the criteria and principles of building conservation and restoration. The candidate has a clear knowledge of the history of conservation theory. Skills: The candidate can make a cultural-historical assessment of the development. General competence: The candidate can make an assessment as well as convey the inherent value of a building.
