Geotechnical Engineering, Specialization Course

The course deals with elasto plastic modelling of soil as a material with weight on the Cam Clay model, application of geotechnical design methods in marine geotechnics on bucket foundations and piled offshore structures. Further examples of practical solutions for foundation design and contruction work is given.

In this course you will be able to develop, extend and apply the knowledge you have gained in previous courses in geotechnical engineering. The course aims at a strengthened theroretical platform, application of this to andvanced analyses and practical knowledge on relevant construction methods. The course is designed for those aiming at practical geotechnical design tasks and those who would like to do research.

The course consists of a combination of conventional lectures and exercises. The exercises shall normally be made individually. Lectures in english. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral. Late examination will be held within the examination term.
