Operation, Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Roads

For operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of roads it is important to have a holistic perspective to obtain a best possible result for the available budget.

Central topics of this course will be: Maintainability of geometric design solutions,winter maintenance (friction, salting, gritting, ploughing of snow), survey methods for existing roads, pavement management systems (PMS) and environmental consequences in the operational phase.

• Dust, noise and environmental effects of salt
• Maintenance needs of tunnels, bridges, gravel roads and the drainage system
