Content

This course delves into the advanced methods and practices in modern manufacturing, focusing on six key areas: manufacturing management, subtractive manufacturing, formative manufacturing, additive and hybrid manufacturing, circular manufacturing, and robotics and automation. The course provides comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with the latest technologies and methodologies that drive efficiency, sustainability, and innovation in manufacturing processes.

Learning outcomes

a. Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of advanced manufacturing techniques and their applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality and supply chain management principles.
  • Familiarity with different machining processes and their optimization.
  • Understanding of material properties and behavior in formative manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies and materials.
  • Principles and practices of circular manufacturing and sustainability.
  • Understanding of robotics, automation, and their integration in manufacturing.

SSeminars will be conducted on campus and will also be streamed and made available on NTNU’s learning platform. Tutoring will be available both on-campus and online at scheduled times.
