Bachelor thesis - Nursing

Professional Nursing (10 ECTS)- Self-chosen topic within the subject area Professional and Scientific Foundations of Nursing (5 ECTS)

Learningoutcome - Knowledge: After having completed the course, the student should: - have in-depth knowledge about a chosen field within nursing. - have knowledge about systematic literture review as a scientific method - understand issues and considerations regarding research ethics in nursing an health sciences Learningoutcome - Skills: After having completed the course, the student should be able to: - conduct a systematic literature review - conduct a systematic literature search, analyze and critically assess research literature relevant to nursing and as a basis for a larger written paper - conduct a systematic literature search, organize and critically assess relevant theory relevant to nursing and as a basis for a larger written paper - present, assess and discuss nursing issues using relevant literature and research results in a larger written paper Learningoutcome - Competence: After having competed the course, the student should be able to: - demonstrate appropriate academic oral and writing skills in connection with a larger written assignment - give an oral presentation of their own work to academic staff and fellow students - give constructive feedback on the work of other students - take part in an academic and professional dialogue regarding own and fellow students' work - assess and integrate research results in nursing - with further specialization, take part in clinical research and presentation of research results.

Lectures, seminars, supervision, group work. Mandatory activities: In order to submit the bachelor thesis, the following requirements must be met: the thesis question and project plan must be approved by the main tutor the student must have taken part in the required seminars with presentation of part of the thesis and feedback to/from fellow students and tutors, and any other mandatory tutoring sessions and meetings with the supervisor. written material must be handed in before all seminars at the appointed time. the student must have taken part in mandatory lectures (allowed absence is 20 %) Approved coursework is valid for the resit exams. Should the student be required to submit a new thesis for the next ordinary exam, all mandatory activities must be taken again, except attendance in mandatory lectures.
