The professional and scientific basis of nursing (0,5 ECTC) - Project work

Skills training, preparation for practice (2,5 ECTC): - Simulation and casework - Skills training- CVC, vene portae, sucction of airways

Pedagogics/Learning psychology (2,5 ECTC): - Nurse's educational function - Legal bounds for the health personnel educational work - User participation and empowerment - Different approaches and models for learning, counselling, and health promotion

Social anthropology and sociology (1,5 ECTC) - Professional identity and integrity, understanding the nurse's role in interprofessional cooperation - Body, health, illness and public health in a multicultural perspective - Migration, globalisation and global health challenges

Knowledge: The candidate - has broad knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention in relation to individuals, health, environment and nursing - has knowledge of the influence of positive health factors on individuals and their environment - has knowledge of national and global policies in public health work - has knowledge of health education/learning to different target groups - has knowledge of and can make use of available knowledge resources - has knowledge about professional identity and integrity, and the nurse role in interprofessional cooperation - has knowledge about migration, globalisation and global health challenges - has knowledge about body, health, sickness and public health in a multicultural perspective - has knowledge of the implementation of research and professional development project -

Skills: The candidate - applies knowledge of risk factors, disease and human reactions towards illness in health promotion - is able to reflect upon patient/users and next of kin's legal rights to cooperation and information in medical help - is able to perform counselling to patient/user and students - is able to use research results in written papers - is able to interact interprofessionally with a basis in a nursing professional identity - applies multicultural knowledge in clinical situations, in cooperation and in preventive health care

General Competence: The candidate - is able to plan, accomplish and evaluate learning/education to particular target groups - is able to plan, accomplish and present projects in health promotion and disease prevention - has insight in relevant professional code of ethics in public health work - is able to work evidence based and contribute to quality development in nursing and the health services - has insight into the minority, gender and age perspectives in relation to health - demonstrates an understanding of the challenges related to migration, globalization and global health - identifies with the nurse's independent and professional occupational role

Lectures, self study, teamwork, project work in groups, presentations, skills training, simulation                Mandantory activities: - skills training, preparation for practice - Approved participation in teamwork with presentation in pedagogics - Approved participation in teamwork with presentation and submission of written assignement in social anthropology The mandatory activities are valid until the year after completion of the program.
