Learning outcome - Knowledge: After completing the course the student should have knowledge of: - perspectives, concepts and methods in social sciences - public health and welfare - the legal basis for the health and care services and the main features of the labour legislation - management at different levels of the health and care services - the concept of institution Learning outcome - skills: After completing the course the student should be able to: - explain key legal provisions in health laws and the working environment act - collaborate and cooperate with colleagues, other professionals and across services - be prepared to lead a group - initiate measures to improve Quality and patient safety - contribute to conflict resolution Leraning outcome - general competence: After completing the course the student should be able to: - engage in health policy issues - show a critical and analytical attitude to the development in health and care services - recognize the importance of clinical leadership - see connections between value conflicts in health and care services and role conflicts in professional practice - use health services research in their professional practice

Lectures, individual work, group work, submission of assignments and oral presentations.  Compulsory activities: Compulsory attendance and participation in group work and presentation within all three themes. Approved compulsory activities are valid until the year after the completion of the program. If the course code changes, special rules apply.
