Spanish proficiency 2

The students will work with oral and written texts from different genres and will be trained in written and oral language skills in Spanish. After the exam is completed, the students will hold a B2 proficiency level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

KNOWLEDGE

The candidate:

• has knowledge of different types of texts and genres
• has knowledge of how to write a coherent written presentation in order to convey information or arguments for or against a specific viewpoint

SKILLS

The candidate:

• can understand and be understood in Spanish both in writing and orally on a B2 level with a high degree of grammatical correctness
• can partake in conversations on familiar topics in Spanish
• can write short academic texts in Spanish
• can use Spanish sentence structure in a correct manner
• can communicate academic content, both in writing and orally
• can use advanced grammatical structures (indicative/conjunctive, past/present/future, etc.)
• can understand longer coherent speech and presentations and follow complex lines of arguments when the topic is relatively familiar

GENERAL COMPETENCE

The candidate:

• can plan and conduct academic tasks
• can reflect on personal academic practice and adjust this under guidance
• has command of relevant academic tools

The course is a combination of lectures and seminars with practical language training and reading of texts.

Students will complete three mandatory assignments during the semester, of which at least one is an oral presentation.

For students in the Teacher Education Programme, the obligatory assignments may be related to didactic topics.

Approved obligatory assignments are valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester). All obligatory assignments must be completed in the same semester.

A minimum of 75% attendance to lectures and seminars is obligatory. Absence above 25% requires an application at the start of the semester.
