International clinical studies in nursing - 5th or 6th semester

Nursing care in an international perspectice - 10 weeks supervised, clinical placement abroad in specialist- (medical or surgical) or community health services.

After having completed the course, the students should have knowledge about: Learning outcome - Knowledge The student has knowledge about: -culturally sensitive nursing -the role and responsibilities of the nurse in the health services of the country where the clinical nursing practice takes place. -health, disease, treatment and health promotion in a global perspective. Learning outcome - Skills The student: - Demonstrates ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate safe, holistic and culturally sensitive nursing care for patients /clients in the relevant area of health care services, using literature, practical skills and experiences from prior clinical placements. -Provides rationale, supported by literature, for nursing actions regarding the nursing care of patients in the relevant country and area of health care services. Learning outcome - General competene The student: -Demonstrates ability to reflect on relevant aspects of nursing care -Provides evidence based nursing care

International clinical placement. reflection individually and in groups. Individual written assignments. Interprofessional learning. Mandatory assignments: 90 % attendance in clinical placement. Taken part in initial, mid- and end of placement meetings. Approved objectives-, mid- and end of placement self assessment notes. Approved reflection essay.
