Quantitative Methods

The course covers applied statistical data analysis with both continuous and categorical variables. The main emphasis is on how ordinary least squares (OLS) regression can be used to analyze both linear and curvilinear relationships between a set of explanatory variables (X) and a continuous dependent variable (Y). The course also provides an introduction to logistic regression.

Knowledge - the student shall:

• be able to read academic literature in the social sciences where regression models are used.

Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:

• carry out analyses with the help of the analytical models in which they received instruction.

Lectures equivalent to 2 hours per week and tutorials/seminars including supervision equivalent to 2 hours per week.
