Social Inequality and Welfare

This course offers an introduction to theories about social inequality, including the distribution of inequality, social mobility, social marginalization, and how these factors are influenced by public policy. Institutions of education have an important impact on these factors.

Knowledge – the student shall:
* through the presentation and review of central theories and approaches, gain a basic sociological understanding of the area of social inequality, social integration and welfare.

Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:
* use the central theories and approach to analyze actual issues in the field of social inequality, social integration and welfare.

2-4 hours of lectures and seminars every week throughout the semester according to the lecture plan. The compulsory activity can only be completed in the spring semester.
