Læringsutbytte - Kunnskap:

Have knowledge about causes, medical examinations,  symptoms, findings, prevention and treatment of the diseases included in the subject

Have knowledge about pharmacological treatment of relevant diseases, including effect, sideeffects and interactions

Have knowledge about the importance of social hygiene and vaccinations for public health

Have knowledge about factors that increase the spread of infections in hospitals

Have knowledge about infection control procedures in hospitals.

    

Læringsutbytte - Ferdigheter:

apply knowledge of causes, medical examinations, symptoms, findings, prevention and treatment of the subject's diseases in the provision of nursing care

apply knowledge of pharmacology in the provision of nursing care

apply knowledge of social hygiene and infection prevention in health care in the provision of nursing care.

Pedagogiske metoder:

 Lectures, self study, study questions, tests, e-learning. Practical training and simulation in the nursing laboratory. Clinical placement.      

Obligatoriske arbeidskrav:

One multiple choice test has to be passed with minimum 80% right. Approved coursework requirements are valid for the year of approval and two subsequent years. If the subject code is changed, special rules apply. 70% compulsory attendance in the lectures and other curricular activity.
