Research and development in education

The course provides knowledge about educational research and development work in education in general and the scope for teachers' exploration in particular. The focus is on research methods, development strategies, ethics and knowledge views that are particularly suitable for exploring and developing teacher work.

The course is based provides insight into educational research that illuminates issues of inclusion and exclusion in different ways. Students will learn to initiate collegial and institutional processes to strengthen the ability of schools and kindergartens to safeguard all students' right to education, as well as analyze the results of their own projects.

Students will gain knowledge of various research and development designs that can form the basis for their own master's projects. Emphasis is placed on how experience-based knowledge, both their own and that of others, can be lifted into research and development work in schools and kindergartens.

The course is completed with three physical sessions. Forms of learning: Lectures and workshops with good opportunities for participant activity, reflections, discussions in small groups and in plenary, exercises, and guidance related to work with oral exams. There will be digital meetings focusing on students' work between sessions.
