Research and Development in School

The course will provide in-depth insight into the theory of science and social science methods. Emphasis will be placed on qualifying the students to analyze and utilize information about the school from -- for example -- national tests, pupil surveys, and the students’ own scientific observations, as a starting point for knowledge-based development work. Emphasis will be placed on preparing the students methodically for the work on the Master's thesis. Lastly, students will be trained in designing a research project.

The teaching consists of lectures, group work, exercises, and plenary discussions. Two three-day sessions are held in the course, with mandatory attendance. During the course, students will work on a text about methods and methodology, with guidance from both peers and faculty.
