Tacit Knowledge and Reflective Praxis

The point of departure for the course will be Schön’s break with the technical rationality as a framework for thoughts on practical work in the field. Even though many situations in the field will resemble previous experiences, the practice of social work will largely take place in a situation that is new and unique.
In this course the focus will be on reflection as a tool for developing knowledge that is relevant for Social Work practice. The course also discusses ethical dilemmas as a challenge for Social Work practice.

The course is designed to give insight into new theory in relation to the practice of social work.

Teaching method and activities: Lectures, seminars and group work.
Compulsory activity: Approved oral presentation.
