Project Design

How do you design a research project? How do you write your own project description? In this course, you will acquire knowledge about research project development, and you are expected to design your own project and understand the logical relationship between research questions, choice of theoretical perspectives and methods.

Upon completing this course you will have extensive knowledge about project design and the overall research process, and be able to prepare and finalize a research proposal. You will be able to formulate and operationalize research questions as well as critically evaluate the feasibility of a research project in relation to time, resources and budget. You can in addition critically assess the methodological choices of a project in relation to research questions and source material, while at the same time making qualified ethical assessments.

Seminars and group supervision in addition to student presentations. Some lectures may be given in English.

Mandatory activity

The mandatory activities in this course is an oral presentation and participation in seminar. In addition you shall collect a list of approx. 1000 pages with selected literature. The literature shall be relevant for your project. The mandatory activities will be evaluated as approved/ not approved. All mandatory activities must be approved in order to be qualified for the exam in this course.
