Anthropological Perspectives on Africa

The course builds on SANT1009 and it is therefore recommended to take SANT1009 prior to SANT2009. However, this is not a requirement. The course provides an introduction to African social and cultural development from an anthropological perspective. The course reading and classes focus on selected aspects of African culture.

To gain an overview of current issues in social and cultural development in Africa south of the Sahara.

Lectures/seminars and written assignements (approx. 30 hours).
One approved written assignment.
6-hour written exam.
