Content
The course presents ethnographic studies and anthropological approaches to organizations and corporations in different regions and cultural settings. In this course the students will be acquainted with different types of organizations and corporate forms and practices, as well as the diverse role anthropologists can play within corporations. Topics that are addressed include interpersonal and intercultural relations, the dynamics of cooperation, group processes, loyalty building as well as corporate and organizational culture.
Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is for students to develop a basic understanding of anthropological perspectives on organizations and corporations. Anthropological knowledge about organizations and corporations will enable students to better understand, analyze and respond with greater critical capacity to challenges organizations face in a global and multicultural working life.
Teaching methods
Lectures/seminars and written assignments (approx. 24 hours).
One approved written assignment.
