Central Research Issues in Anthropology

What are the relationships between theoretical perspectives, concepts, and methods in social anthropological research? In this course, you will be challenged to identify and problematize how anthropological knowledge is developed, from field observations to analysis and representation. Through detailed and comparative studies of social life you will obtain knowledge about different social, cultural and human issues, and gain a deeper understanding of how they connect.

Upon completing this course, you have gained an overview of central research topics in social anthropology, and developed basic knowledge regarding the relationship between theory, methods and empirical research, and a holistic understanding of their ongoing interactions. In this course you will attain skills which you can use to discuss current cultural and social questions from a social anthropological perspective.
